Hampshire Legacy

Pictured here in our working clothes are four long-time colleagues with a combined 175 years of breeding Hampshires. This picture was taken at our finishing barn where Brent Bolen, owner of Hi Point Genetics, was looking at Jesse Heimer Hampshires housed in our slat barn. Dad and I share a long time friendship and passion for the Hampshire breed with Brent and Jesse. Brent bought his first Hampshire females from us in the 1980s and we have relied extensively on Hi Point sires to improve our herd for 20+ years.

Jesse also purchased DMP females as a young breeder in the early 1990s and more recently in our Turning the Page Sale in 2017. One of those purchases was the 54-2 Wrecking Ball daughter. She has been extremely influential both within Jesse's heard and top boar studs across the country. Her descendants include Lions Share, Roar, Throwback, H345, 352-1, and 352-4 - all recent or current herd boars at Heimer Hampshires. Ice at Premium Blend, Exclamation at Upperhand, Vanilla Ice and Example at Shaffer Gold Rush are all her descendants currently in use at these prominent studs in 2024. Accelerate, Cold Chill, Super Sonic, and Sub Zero at Hi Point are also her descendants.

We are confident these genetics and those on this site will continue to build the DMP legacy in the Hampshire breed.
